Shotsy alternatives: an honest comparison

By Melvin Morina · Updated 2026-07-27 · Ratings from the US App Store, 27 July 2026

Stay with Shotsy if you take a single branded pen and want the most-tested option in the category. It holds 4.84★ across 28,063 ratings, which is real evidence that the fundamentals work. Look elsewhere if you reconstitute vials, take peptides alongside your GLP-1, or want the dose countdown on your Lock Screen.

When to stay with Shotsy

The category's scale leader by a wide margin. GLP-1 first: no reconstitution calculator is advertised, and its own site describes injection-site rotation with next-site suggestions. Switching trackers means leaving your dose history behind, so a small feature gap is rarely worth it. The reasons that genuinely justify a move are structural: your medication does not fit the app's model, or a capability you need every week simply is not there.

A checkmark means the feature is advertised by the developer; a dash means it is not advertised, which is not proof of absence.

About Bo

Bo is my app, so here is the honest shape of it: it is built for people reconstituting vials who also want food and weight in one place, it has a free calculator and free estimated levels, and it has no cloud sync and no Android version. If either of those is a dealbreaker, Shotsy or one of the others above is the better choice, and I would rather say so than have you find out after switching.

Educational information only. Bo is a tracking app, not a medical device, and nothing here is medical advice, a dosing recommendation, or a substitute for your prescriber. Half-lives are population averages from the sources cited on each row; individual clearance varies with body weight, kidney and liver function, and other medication.
